NAFSA update

Author: transcriptresearch

NAFSA will be updating the 1996 publication “Guide to Educational Systems around the World.” Updates will be available on the ACE (Admissions and Credential Evaluation) Network section of the NAFSA website (http://www.nafsa.org/knowledge_community_network.sec/recruitment_admissions/admissions_and_credential). The updates will be available to all international educators, regardless of membership status. The RAP national team would like to have the first set of updates available to post in mid-September, in pdf format. This is super awesome all around!

Controversial Indian universities

Author: transcriptresearch

Shervanit Narayan, the RAP/OSEAS Advisor for South Asia in India, posted to the inter-l that both ICFAI University and Amity University are now authorized (again? for the first time?) under the UGC of India. There was sooooo much controversy over those two and their many campuses that I, personally, feel a lot of reluctance towards accepting anything historical of theirs, but I would certainly see going forward with future credentials.

AACRAO out-of-print catalog

Author: transcriptresearch

AACRAO’s out-of-print catalog is currently unavailable. http://www.aacrao.org/publications/Books_on_Demand.pdf Apparently, “UMI is trying to sell their Books on Demand business—and that in the interim, no service will be available. It could take months to sell and transition, so the best thing to do is check at our website periodically.” This is a bummer since the brilliant workshop report on Canada and the equally useful Newly Independent States (former Soviet States) books are both out of print yet are still, hands down, the best written resources on their respective subjects.
